3 Steps Air fryer Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki chicken is a popular dish in Japanese cuisine that has gained widespread popularity globally.


Teriyaki chicken offers a balanced combination of flavors, combining the umami richness of soy sauce, the sweetness of mirin and sugar, and the slight tanginess from other seasonings. This balance creates a harmonious taste profile that is pleasing to the palate.


Using this awesome teriyaki sauce, the only step you really need is to cook the chicken.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of boneless chicken thighs or breasts (around 400g)
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce

Instructions

  1. Remove excess fats and skin from chicken pieces. Place in container.
  2. Add in teriyaki sauce and marinate the meat for at least 30 mins. (I usually freeze the chicken with the marinate and defroze when needed)
  3. Air fry the meat pieces at 200°C for 12-15 mins.

Teriyaki chicken is incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed in various ways. It can be served as a standalone dish with a side of rice and vegetables, or used as a filling for sandwiches, wraps, or tacos. It also works well in stir-fries, salads, and noodle dishes. Different cuts of chicken can also be used.


Withour air fryer, you can bake the chicken at 220°C for 20-25 mins (take a look at this guide to do the conversion) or pan fry the meat over the stove.
